Toddler Art Studio

This is a commercial toddler art studio for small classes of children ages 1.5-5.
The empty space is what the studio looked like “before” when I began the project.
The room is about 7′ wide by 15′ long. To maximize the small space, I added custom shelving along the back wall, storage cabinets and drying racks along the front wall, and hung easels along the side wall.
I also hung a large acrylic panel next to the easels to provide a smooth surface for printmaking, finger-painting, and many other artistic explorations. On the bottom half of the window, I applied an opaque film layer for privacy as well as to block the distracting view of cars zooming by. This window also acted as a light box, offering a back-lit surface for painting.
