Family Room Art & Lego Space
San Francisco, CA
For this project, I worked alongside Elena Calebrese Design & Decor. She and her team were working on the lounge areas of the room, while I took on the art space and toy organization. The clients wanted a place for their three young children to work on creative projects and display their artwork. They also wanted better storage for their Legos and other toys. The family has a very modern home and wanted a warm, but modern aesthetic.
For the art area, we moved the existing counter top down to child-height and added an Urbio magnetic container system and wall shelves for art storage above the desk. Across from the art desk, there is a small wall where we added magnetic pin boards to hang the children’s artwork.
For Lego storage, we added wall shelves and modern rolling bins and baskets. The top shelf holds three Lego trays that I made so that the kids can carry them around the room and easily save on the shelf.
For extra storage of seldom-used garage items, we added the large baskets on top of the tall cabinets.
These photos were taken after the first installation day. Since then, we added wall sconces above the art desk and a wall easel below the art display boards. I will update soon with new photos.
